성경은 우리에게 모든 아픔과 질병이 마귀로 인해 발생한다고 말하지 않습니다. 그러나 사탄은 질병과 관련이 있습니다. 그는 태초부터 죄의 원인이었고, 성경은 죄로 인해 사망이 세상에 들어왔다고 말하기 때문입니다. 질병은 단순히 초기 단계의 죽음입니다.
죄가 없었다면 아픔도 전혀 없었을 것입니다. 하지만 어떤 사람들은 “사탄이 질병과 관련이 있다면 어떻게 의사들이 질병을 치료할 수 있습니까?”라고 묻습니다. 답은 간단합니다. 사탄은 전능하지 않습니다. 그는 모든 능력을 가지고 있지 않습니다. 그는 모든 자연을 통제할 수 없으며 인간의 삶을 완전히 지배할 수도 없습니다. 인간은 여전히 의지를 가지고 있고, 여전히 권세를 가지고 있습니다.
예를 들어, 거라사의 귀신 들린 사람의 이야기를 생각해 보십시오(막 5:1-15). 성경은 그가 군대라 할 만큼 많은 귀신을 가졌지만 주 예수님이 오셨을 때 그가 예수님께 달려갔다고 말합니다. 만일 귀신들이 자기 뜻대로 했다면, 그들은 그 사람이 주님께 다가가는 것을 막았을 것입니다. 하지만 귀신들은 그를 막을 수 없었습니다. 귀신 들린 사람이라도 백 퍼센트 사탄의 지배를 받는 것은 아니기 때문입니다. 그의 의지는 여전히 기능하고 있었습니다.
이는 하나님의 형상대로 지어진 인간이 타락한 천사보다 더 높은 계급에 있음을 보여줍니다. 따라서 사탄이 일으킨 어떤 악이나 피해도 종종 되돌릴 수 있습니다. 예를 들어, 누군가가 사탄의 조작으로 사고를 당해 차가 부서졌다면, 그는 그 차를 수리할 수 있고 사탄은 그것을 막을 수 없습니다.
만약 사탄이 사람들이 상상하는 모든 능력을 가지고 있었다면, 그는 오래전에 모든 사람을 멸망시켰을 것입니다. 하지만 그는 그렇게 할 수 없기 때문에 하지 못했습니다. 사탄은 문제를 일으키지만, 앞서 말했듯이 그가 하는 일의 대부분은 인간의 노력으로 되돌릴 수 있습니다. 그러나 인간의 능력이 멈추는 곳에서 예수 이름이 이어받습니다. 주 예수님은 마귀의 일을 멸하시고 우리에게 마귀와 그의 어둠의 무리들을 다스리는 권세를 주시기 위해 오셨습니다. 당신은 인간의 힘을 훨씬 뛰어넘는, 이 세상을 훨씬 뛰어넘는 능력을 가지고 있습니다. 그 능력은 성령의 능력입니다. 그 능력은 예수 이름의 능력입니다. 그러므로 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 당신의 권세는 모든 어둠의 세력보다 큽니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 예수 이름 안에 있는 권세를 주셔서 감사합니다. 나는 아픔, 질병, 어둠의 모든 일에 대해 그 권세를 행사합니다. 나는 사탄이 내 발 아래 있음을 알고 그리스도의 승리 안에 삽니다. 사탄의 계략은 나와 내 주변, 내 세상에 있는 사람들의 삶에서 무익합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

DOMINION OVER SATAN AND HIS WORKS
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12).
The Scriptures don’t give us the impression that all sicknesses and diseases are caused by demons. However, Satan does have a remote connection to sickness because he was the cause of sin from the very beginning, and the Bible tells us that through sin, death entered into the world. Sickness is simply, incipient death.
Without sin, there would have been no sickness at all. But some have asked, “If Satan has something to do with sickness, how come doctors are able to cure them?” The answer is simple: Satan is not omnipotent. He doesn’t have all the power. He cannot control all of nature, nor can he totally dominate human life. Man still has a will, and man still has authority.
For example, consider the story of the demon-possessed man of Gadara (Mark 5:1–15). The Bible says he had a legion of demons, yet when the Lord Jesus came by, he ran toward Him. If the demons had their way, they would have prevented the man from approaching the Master. But they couldn’t stop him, because even a demon-possessed man is not 100% controlled by Satan; his will still functions.
This shows that human beings, made in the image of God, are of a higher order than fallen angels. So, any evil or damage caused by Satan can often be undone. If, for example, someone had an accident through satanic manipulation and the car was wrecked, you can repair the car, and Satan cannot stop it.
If Satan had all the power people imagine he has, he would have destroyed everyone long ago. But he hasn’t because he can’t. Yes, Satan does cause trouble, but as already stated, much of what he does can be undone through human effort. But where human ability stops, the Name of Jesus takes over. The Lord Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and give us dominion over him and his cohorts of darkness. You have power far beyond human strength, far beyond this world. It’s the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s the power of the Name of Jesus. Therefore, your authority in Christ Jesus is greater than every force of darkness.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for giving me authority in the Name of Jesus. I exercise that authority over sickness, disease, and every work of darkness. I live in the victory of Christ, knowing that Satan is under my feet; His schemes are futile in and around me, and in the lives of those in my world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
