God’s Precious Gift To All
“내가 아버지께 구하겠으니 그가 또 다른 보혜사를 너희에게 주사 영원토록 너희와 함께 있게 하리니”(요 14:16)
우리는 종종 하나님께서 교회에 주신 가장 큰 선물이 성령님이라고 말합니다. 그러나 사실 성령님은 온 인류에게 주신 하나님의 선물이라는 것을 알고 계십니까? 하나님은 요엘 2장 28-29절에서 “그 후에 내가 내 영을 만민에게 부어 주리니… 그 때에 내가 또 내 영을 남종과 여종에게 부어 줄 것이며”라고 말씀하셨습니다.
사도 베드로는 요엘의 예언이 성취된 후 사도행전 2:16-18에서 동일한 예언을 다시 말했습니다. 그리고 38-39절에서 “…그리하면 성령의 선물을 받으리니 이 약속은 너희와 너희 자녀와 모든 먼 데 사람 곧 주 우리 하나님이 얼마든지 부르시는 자들에게 하신 것이라 하고” 눈치채셨습니까? 성령님은 모든 사람을 위한 선물이며, 모든 육체에 부어졌습니다.
만약 당신이 성령님을 영접하지 않았다면 지금 당장 영접하십시오. 먼저, 예수님을 당신의 삶의 주님으로 고백했는지 확인하십시오. 아직 고백하지 않았다면, 이 책의 뒤편에 있는 구원을 위한 기도를 읽고, 그 기도를 전심으로 기도하십시오. 그런 다음, “나는 성령님을 영접합니다. 오늘부터 그분은 내 안에 거하십니다.”라고 선포하십시오.
성령님은 바람, 힘, 감정이 아니십니다. 그분은 우리 안에서 역사하시는 하나님의 인격이십니다. 예수님은 승천하실 때 우리 안에 거하시고, 인도하시고, 강건케 하시고, 신성한 생명을 위해 능력을 주시기 위해 성령님을 보내셨습니다. 성령님은 기독교를 실재로 만드시는 분이십니다. 성령님이 없었다면 복음은 그저 말에 불과했을 것입니다. 그러나 성령님과 함께라면 복음은 살아있는 실재입니다.
성령님은 당신에게 그리스도를 계시하시고, 말씀을 가르치시며, 초자연적인 삶을 살게 하십니다. 성령님은 삼위일체 하나님의 능력이십니다. 성령님과 함께라면 변화를 일으킬 수 있는 역동적인 능력을 가지고 그리스도 안에서 초월적인 삶을 살 수 있습니다. 성령님은 당신의 돕는 분, 가르치는 분, 강건케 하는 분, 친구이십니다.
무엇보다 당신의 삶에서 성령님과 그분의 사역을 감사하고 소중히 여기십시오. 기도와 경배, 말씀 묵상 가운데 그분과 교제하십시오. 그러면 그분의 지혜가 당신을 인도하고, 그분의 능력이 당신을 붙들고, 그분의 영광이 삶을 가득 채우며 당신이 하는 모든 일에서 나타날 것입니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 성령님의 귀한 선물과 축복에 감사드립니다. 성령님은 나의 선생님이시고 인도자이시며, 왕국의 실재를 보여주시고, 영광과 의의 길로 인도하십니다. 나는 지혜와 능력과 승리 가운데 걷습니다. 나는 성령으로 말미암아 강건해지고, 인도받고, 지속적으로 새로워집니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

GOD’S PRECIOUS GIFT TO ALL
“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever” (John 14:16).
We often say that the Holy Spirit is God’s greatest gift to the Church, but did you know that, in truth, the Holy Spirit is God’s gift to all humanity? God said in Joel 2:28-29, “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh…And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.”
The apostle Peter re-echoed the same prophecy in Acts 2:16-18 after it had come to pass. Further in the 38th and 39th verses he said, “…receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” Did you notice that? The gift of the Holy Spirit is for all and He’s been poured out upon ALL flesh.
If you haven’t received Him, you should do so right away. First, be sure that you’ve confessed Jesus as Lord of your life. If you’re yet to do so, turn to the Prayer of Salvation on page 76 of this devotional, pray that prayer, meaning it with all your heart. Then, simply declare, “I receive the Holy Spirit and He lives in me from this day forward.”
The Holy Spirit is not a wind, a force, or a feeling; He’s the very personality of the Godhead at work in us. When Jesus ascended to Heaven, He sent us the Holy Spirit to live in us, to guide, strengthen, and empower us for the divine life. He’s the One that makes Christianity real. Without Him, the Gospel would be mere words, but with Him, it’s a living reality.
The Holy Spirit unveils Christ to you, teaches you the Word, and causes you to walk in the supernatural. He’s the power of the God-head. With Him in your life, you have the dynamic ability to effect changes and live the transcendent life in Christ. He’s your helper, your teacher, your strenthener, and your friend.
Appreciate and treasure His Person and ministry in your life above all else. Fellowship with Him in prayer, worship, and meditation on the Word, and His wisdom will guide you, His power will sustain you, and His glory will fill your life and be evident in all that you do.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the precious gift and blessing of the Holy Spirit; my teacher and my guide, the One who unveils to me the realities of the Kingdom and guides me in the path of glory and righteousness. I walk in wisdom, power, and victory; I’m strengthened, guided, and continually refreshed by the Holy Spirit in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
