A Divine Exchange
“하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이를 우리를 대신하여 죄로 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이라”(고후 5:21)
우리는 오늘의 본문 구절에서 그리스도 안에 있는 우리의 의에 대한 정말 특별한 사실을 발견합니다. 의는 신성한 교환의 결과입니다. 주 예수님께서 당신을 대신하여 십자가에 달리셨을 때, 그분은 당신을 위해 죄인이 되신 것이 아니라 죄를 위한 희생제물이 되셨습니다. 그분은 당신이 그분의 의로 의롭게 되도록 당신의 죄의 본성을 담당하셨습니다.
이는 역사상 가장 위대한 거래입니다. 그래서 우리는 예수 그리스도의 복음이 대속의 복음이라고 말합니다. 하나님은 죄를 알지도 못하신 주 예수님을 당신을 위해 죄로 삼으셨습니다. 당신이 그분 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하시기 위함입니다. 이는 완벽하게 합법적이었습니다. 주 예수님은 정의가 요구하는 모든 의를 이루셨습니다.
베드로전서 3장 18절은 말합니다. “그리스도께서도 단번에 죄를 위하여 죽으사 의인으로서 불의한 자를 대신하셨으니 이는 우리를 하나님 앞으로 인도하려 하심이라…” 죄를 알지도 못하신 분이 우리를 대신하여 죄가 되신 것이 완전히 합법적이었기 때문에, 그분의 이름으로 의로운 일을 한 적이 없는 죄인이 의롭다고 선포되는 것 또한 완전히 합법적이었습니다. 이제 하나님은 그리스도 안에 있는 당신을 거룩하고, 흠이 없고, 의롭다고 보십니다.
로마서 4장 24-25절은 주 예수님께서 우리의 범죄함 때문에 죽음에 넘겨지셨고, 우리를 의롭다 하기 위해 다시 살아나셨다고 말합니다. 그러므로 당신의 의는 도덕적 노력이나 선한 행위의 결과나 기능이 아닙니다. 또한 당신이 성장해서 얻는 것이 아닙니다. 거듭난 순간 당신의 영에 의가 주어졌고, 하나님 앞에 바른 위치를 갖게 되었으며, 바르게 행하고 살 수 있는 능력을 갖게 되었습니다. 할렐루야!
이것을 이해한다면 하나님과 동행하는 모든 것이 바뀝니다. 당신에게 기도와 고백에 대한 담대함이 생깁니다. 당신은 더 이상 자비를 구하는 죄인으로 하나님께 나아가지 않습니다. 당신은 사랑하는 하늘 아버지의 사랑하는 자녀로서 의를 통해 은혜로 다스리며 하나님께 나아갑니다.
이 의식 가운데 행하십시오. 죄책감이나 정죄감이 아버지와의 교제를 빼앗아 가지 못하게 하십시오. 당신은 그분의 은혜로 값없이 의롭게 되었습니다. 그러므로 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 담대하게 서서 생명 안에서 다스리십시오. “한 사람의 범죄로 말미암아 사망이 그 한 사람을 통하여 왕 노릇 하였은즉 더욱 은혜와 의의 선물을 넘치게 받는 자들은 한 분 예수 그리스도를 통하여 생명 안에서 왕 노릇 하리로다”(롬 5:17) 할렐루야!
고백
나는 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님의 의이며, 이 진리를 인식하며 살아갑니다. 나는 예수 그리스도를 믿는 믿음으로 담대함과 확신을 가지고 그분께 나아갑니다. 죄, 죄책감, 정죄감은 나를 다스릴 수 없습니다. 내가 의로 말미암아 은혜로 생명 안에서 왕 노릇 하기 때문입니다. 할렐루야!

A DIVINE EXCHANGE
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
From our opening scripture above, we observe something really extraordinary about our righteousness in Christ: It’s a product of divine exchange. When the Lord Jesus took your place on the Cross, He became sin for your sake, not a sinner, but the sacrifice for sin. He took up your sinful nature for you to become righteous with His righteousness.
That is the greatest transaction in history. It’s for this reason we say the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the Gospel of substitution. God made the Lord Jesus, who knew no sin, to become sin for you, so that you might be made the righteousness of God in Him. This was perfectly legal. The Lord Jesus fulfilled all the righteous demands of justice.
1 Peter 3:18 says, “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God….” Since it was perfectly legal for the One who knew no sin to become sin in our behalf, it was perfectly legal for the sinner who never did anything right to be declared righteous in His Name. Now, God sees you in Christ as holy, blameless and justified.
Romans 4:24-25 says the Lord Jesus was delivered to death for our offences, and was raised back to life for our justification. Therefore, your righteousness isn’t a product or function of your moral efforts or good works. It’s also not something you grow into; it was imparted to your spirit the moment you were born again, giving you right standing with God and the ability to do and live right. Hallelujah!
Having this understanding changes everything about your walk with God. It gives you boldness in prayer and in your confessions. You no longer approach God as a sinner seeking mercy, but as the love-child of a loving heavenly Father, reigning by grace through righteousness.
Walk in this consciousness. Refuse to let guilt or condemnation rob you of fellowship with the Father. You were justified freely by His grace; therefore, stand boldly and reign in life through Jesus Christ: “For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17). Hallelujah!
CONFESSION
I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and I live in the consciousness of this truth. I have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Jesus Christ. Sin, guilt, and condemnation have no power over me, for I reign in life by grace through righteousness. Hallelujah!
