Called To Inherit All Things
“모든 일을 그의 뜻의 결정대로 일하시는 이의 계획을 따라 우리가 예정을 입어 그 안에서 기업이 되었으니” (엡 1:11)
그리스도 안에 있는 하나님의 목적은 단지 우리를 죄에서 구원하는 것이 아니라 우리를 아브라함의 축복에서 비롯된 유업으로 인도하는 것이었습니다. 성경은 우리가 하나님의 상속자이며 그리스도와 함께 한 공동 상속자라고 말합니다(롬 8:17). 이는 그리스도께 속한 모든 것이 그분께 속한 것과 같은 방식과 수준으로 당신에게 속했다는 뜻입니다.
그렇다면 그리스도께 속한 것들은 무엇입니까? 그분의 유업의 범위는 어디까지입니까? 성경은 온 세상과 그 안에 있는 모든 것이 그분께 속한다고 말합니다. “땅과 거기에 충만한 것과 세계와 그 가운데에 사는 자들은 다 여호와의 것이로다”(시 24:1) 또한 사도 바울은 에베소서 3:8에서 그분의 유업의 무한하고 측량할 수 없는 범위를 보여줍니다. “내게, 비록 나는 모든 성도들(하나님께 구별된 사람들) 가운데 가장 작은 자이지만, 이 은혜(호의, 특권)가 주어지고 은혜로 맡겨졌습니다. 그것은 이방인들에게 그리스도의 끝이 없는(한이 없고, 헤아릴 수 없고, 계산할 수 없으며, 다함이 없는) 풍요함[어느 누구도 탐구해 찾아낼 수 없는 부요함]을 선포하는 것이었습니다.”(확대 번역본)
이는 그리스도 안에서 당신이 받은 유업의 정도와 크기를 설명합니다. 당신은 그분과 하나이기 때문에 그분이 소유한 것을 소유합니다. 이는 먼 미래에 이루어지길 바라는 것이 아닙니다. 에베소서 1:11은 당신이 이미 유업을 얻었다고 말합니다. 이는 과거 시제입니다. 당신은 지금 유업의 소유자입니다. 그리스도를 통해 아버지께 속한 모든 것, 곧 지혜, 부, 평안, 권세, 영광에 접근할 수 있습니다.

CALLED TO INHERIT ALL THINGS
“In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will” (Ephesians 1:11).
God’s purpose in Christ wasn’t just to save us from sin, it was to bring us into our inheritance—an inheritance rooted in the blessing of Abraham. The Bible says we are heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). That means everything that belongs to Christ belongs to you in the same way and measure that it belongs to Him.
So, what are the things that belong to Christ? What’s the extent of His inheritance? The Bible says the whole world and everything therein belongs to Him: “The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” (Psalm 24:1). The Apostle Paul in Ephesians 3:8 also gives us a glimpse into the limitless and unfathomable extent of His inheritance: “To me, though I am the very least of all the saints (God’s consecrated people), this grace (favor, privilege) was granted and graciously entrusted: to proclaim to the Gentiles the unending (boundless, fathomless, incalculable, and exhaustless) riches of Christ [wealth which no human being could have searched out].”
This describes the degree or magnitude of your inheritance in Christ. You own what He owns because you’re one with Him. This isn’t something to be hoped for in the distant future. Ephesians 1:11 says you’ve already obtained an inheritance. That’s past tense. You’re a possessor now. Through Christ, you have access to everything that belongs to the Father—wisdom, wealth, peace, authority, and glory.
Even more, Ephesians 1:14 calls the Holy Spirit the “earnest” of our inheritance, the deposit or down payment that guarantees we own everything in Christ. If God gave you His Spirit, then everything else is included. It helps you further understand the words of the Spirit through the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:21-22, “Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours.”
Refuse to think small. Don’t see yourself as disadvantaged. You’re chosen, predestined and positioned for greatness. Think, talk, and live with the consciousness that all things are yours in Christ Jesus: “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3).
CONFESSION
I’ve obtained an inheritance in Christ; all things are mine. The blessing of Abraham is working in me. I walk in dominion, fruitfulness, and divine favour. I live in the reality of my inheritance in Christ today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
