Work The Word
“그러므로 나의 사랑하는 자들아… 두렵고 떨림으로 너희 구원을 이루라”(빌 2:12)
기독교에서 거듭났다는 것은 자동적으로 당신이 참된 그리스도인처럼 살거나 그리스도인의 삶의 결과를 경험한다는 것을 의미하지 않습니다. 무언가가 자동적으로 일어나기 시작한다는 뜻이 아닙니다. 당신이 그 일들을 일어나게 해야 합니다. 당신은 자신의 구원을 이루어야 합니다. 이는 당신이 자신의 믿음을 행해야 한다는 뜻입니다. 당신은 하나님의 말씀을 실천해야 합니다.
구원의 축복을 경험하는 사람은 말씀을 행하는 사람입니다. “너희는 말씀을 행하는 자가 되고 듣기만 하여 자신을 속이는 자가 되지 말라… 자유롭게 하는 온전한 율법을 들여다보고 있는 자는 듣고 잊어버리는 자가 아니요 실천하는 자니 이 사람은 그 행하는 일에 복을 받으리라”(약 1:22-25)
당신은 사탄, 아픔, 질병, 연약함보다 우월한 생명, 곧 신성한 생명을 가지고 있습니다. 당신은 하나님과 같은 종류의 존재입니다. “이로써 그 보배롭고 지극히 큰 약속을 우리에게 주사 이 약속으로 말미암아 너희가 정욕 때문에 세상에서 썩어질 것을 피하여 신성한 성품에 참여하는 자가 되게 하려 하셨느니라”(벧후 1:4) 당신은 하나님으로부터 났습니다. “자녀들아 너희는 하나님께 속하였고 또 그들을 이기었나니 이는 너희 안에 계신 이가 세상에 있는 자보다 크심이라”(요일 4:4)
당신의 근원은 하나님 안에 있고, 그분은 당신 안에 거하십니다. 당신은 이 실재를 삶의 환경에 적용해야 합니다. 바로 이때 당신의 말씀에 대한 지식과 묵상이 필요합니다. 당신은 스스로를 위해 말씀을 알고 묵상해야 합니다. 묵상을 통해 말씀 안에 있는 실재와 진리가 당신의 의식으로 들어옵니다. 그것들은 당신에게 실제적이고 분명한 것이 됩니다.
또한 말씀을 의식적으로 묵상함으로써 당신의 길을 번영케 하고, 승리를 창조하고, 삶의 일들을 지혜롭게 처리합니다. “이 율법책이 네 입에서 떠나지 않게 하며, 그것을 밤낮으로 묵상하여 그 안에 기록된 모든 것을 지켜 행하는 자가 되어라. 그러면 네가 네 길을 번영하게 만들 것이며, 네가 지혜롭게 행하여 좋은 성공을 얻게 될 것이다.”(수 1:8, 확대 번역본)
당신의 영광스럽고 번영하는 삶은 하나님께 달려있는 것이 아니라 당신에게 달려있습니다. 하나님은 당신이 최고로 축복받고, 다스리며, 구원의 모든 유익을 누리기 위해 필요한 그분의 말씀을 주셨습니다. 그러나 당신은 말씀을 행해야 합니다. 말씀을 따라 행하며 말씀이 말하는 바를 당신 안에서 그리고 당신을 위해 생산해야 합니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 나에게 주신 신성한 생명에 감사드립니다. 나는 그리스도 안에서 내가 누구인지 인식하며 살아갑니다. 나는 하나님의 말씀을 나의 생각, 신체, 일상적인 환경에 적용합니다. 나는 날마다 신성한 건강, 평안, 승리 가운데 걷습니다. 내가 하나님의 내주하시는 임재와 내 안에 있는 성령의 능력을 인식하며 살기 때문입니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

WORK THE WORD
“Wherefore, my beloved… work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12).
In Christianity, that you’re born again doesn’t automatically mean you’ll live like a true Christian or experience the results of the Christian life. It doesn’t mean things will automatically start happening of their own accord; no! You have to make them happen. You have to work out your salvation. That means you have to put your faith to work; you have to practise the Word of God.
It’s the doer of the Word that experiences the blessings of salvation: “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves…But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed” (James 1:22-25).
You have a life that’s superior to Satan, sickness, disease and infirmities—the divine life. You’re an associate of the God-kind: “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:4). You hail from God: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
Your origin is in God, and He lives in you. You must superimpose these realities upon the circumstances of life. That’s where your knowledge of the Word and meditation comes in. You have to know and meditate on the Word for yourself. Through meditation, the realities in the Word and the truths within your spirit are brought into your consciousness. They become real and tangible to you.
Also, through conscious meditation on the Word, you make your way prosperous, create your victories and deal wisely in the affairs of life: “This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success” (Joshua 1:8 AMPC).
There you have it: your glorious and prosperous life isn’t up to God but up to you. He’s given you His Word which is what you need to live supremely blessed, walk in dominion and enjoy the full benefits of salvation. But you must work the Word; act on it to produce in and for you what it talks about.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the divine life you’ve given me. I live in the consciousness of who I am in Christ. I superimpose your Word over my thoughts, my body, and my daily circumstances. I walk in divine health, peace, and victory every day, because I live from the awareness of your indwelling presence and the power of the Spirit in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
