말씀 없이는 기초가 없습니다
No Foundation Without The Word
“내게 나아와 내 말을 듣고 행하는 자마다 누구와 같은 것을 너희에게 보이리라 집을 짓되 깊이 파고 주추를 반석 위에 놓은 사람과 같으니 큰 물이 나서 탁류가 그 집에 부딪치되 잘 지었기 때문에 능히 요동하지 못하게 하였거니와”(눅 6:47-48)
어떤 그리스도인들은 어려운 상황을 겪을 때 말씀을 무시합니다. 예를 들어, 그들이 어려움을 겪고 있을 때 당신이 그들의 마음을 얻거나 말씀에 주의를 기울이게 하려고 하면, 그들은 “말씀이 그렇게 말하는 것을 알지만…”라고 말할 것입니다. 그들은 간접적으로 당신에게 말씀을 제쳐두라고 말하는 것입니다. 그들은 다른 해결책을 원합니다.
그렇게 할 때 그들은 하나님의 도움을 거부하고 저항하는 것입니다. 성령님은 말씀 없이 아무것도 하지 않으실 것입니다. 하나님의 말씀 없이 일어나는 모든 일은 기초가 없습니다. 그런 일은 실패할 것입니다. 주 예수님께서 오늘의 본문 구절에서 말씀하신 내용을 기억하십시오. 예수님은 모래 위에 집을 지은 사람과 반석 위에 집을 지은 사람에 대한 비유를 말씀하셨습니다. 삶의 위기가 닥쳤을 때 모래 위에 지은 집은 무너졌지만, 반석 위에 지은 집은 흔들리지 않고 견뎌냈습니다.
그리고 예수님은 반석 위에 집을 지은 사람은 말씀 위에 집을 짓고, 말씀을 자신의 기초로 삼은 사람이라고 설명하셨습니다. 당신이 삶을 말씀 위에 세울 때, 그 삶은 꽃을 피웁니다. 삶의 위기에도 끄떡없습니다. 무슨 일이 일어나든지 항상 승리하고 다스립니다. 그러나 말씀이 없다면 당신이 가진 것은 모두 공허합니다.
사역을 할 때에도 어떤 은사나 성령의 나타남 위에 당신의 사역을 세우지 마십시오. 말씀 위에 세우십시오. 말씀이 초점이자, 머무는 곳이자, 닻이 되게 하십시오. 말씀을 전파하십시오. 말씀을 믿으십시오. 말씀을 가르치고 말씀대로 사십시오. 당신의 삶과 메시지가 진리 위에 세워지게 하십시오. 말씀은 진리입니다(요 17:17).
또한 우리가 말씀 위에 세운다고 말할 때, 우리는 단순히 성경 구절 하나를 말하는 것이 아니라 하나님의 “로고스”(그리스어), 즉 진리 전체, 복음을 통해 성경에 나타난 예수 그리스도의 계시를 말하는 것입니다. 우리는 예수 그리스도의 복음과 일치하는 것, 즉 그분이 누구시며, 그분이 하러 오신 일, 그분의 사명을 말하는 것입니다. 말씀을 당신 삶의 기초로 삼으십시오.

사랑하는 아버지, 나는 말씀 안에서, 말씀으로 삽니다. 그러므로 나는 흔들리지 않고, 견고하며, 항상 승리합니다. 내 삶은 진리 위에 세워져 있기 때문입니다. 진리는 나의 기초이며 닻이고, 내가 하는 모든 일에서 탁월함을 나타냅니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

NO FOUNDATION WITHOUT THE WORD
“Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock” (Luke 6:47-48).
Some Christians ignore the Word when they’re experiencing challenging situations. For example, if they have a difficulty and you try to get their minds or point their attention to the Word, they’d say, “I know that’s what the Word says, but….” They’re indirectly telling you to set the Word aside; they want another solution.
By doing this, they’re rejecting and resisting help from God. The Holy Spirit won’t do anything without the Word. Everything that happens without the Word of God has no foundation; it’ll fail. Remember what the Lord Jesus said in our opening scripture above. He gave a parable about the man who built his house on sand and the one who built his house on the rock. When the crisis of life came, the house built on sand fell, but the one built on the rock remained unshakable.
Then He explained that the one who built his house on the rock is the one who built on the Word, who made the Word His foundation. When you build your life on the Word, it blossoms; you’re impregnable to the crises of life. You’re always victorious and in dominion, come what may. But without the Word, whatever you have is empty.
Even in ministry, don’t build your ministry on some gifts or manifestations of the Spirit; build on the Word. Let the Word be the focus, the stay, and the anchor. Preach the Word. Believe the Word. Teach the Word and live the Word. Let your life and your message be founded on Truth—the Word is truth (John 17:17).
Moreover, when we say build on the Word, we’re not just referring to an isolated verse of scripture but to the “logos” (Greek) of God, the whole body of truth, the revelation of Jesus Christ in the Scriptures through the Gospel. We’re referring to that which is consistent with the Gospel of Jesus Christ—who He is and what He came to do—His mission. Make that the foundation of your life.
CONFESSION
Dear Father, I live in and by your Word. Therefore, I’m unshakable, steadfast, and always victorious because my life is established on your truth; it’s my foundation and anchor and has pre-eminence in all I do, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
