Possessing The Gates Of Your Enemies
“… 네 씨가 그 대적의 성문을 차지하리라”(창 22:17)
아브라함이 이삭을 바친 후 하나님께서 아브라함과 맺은 언약을 재확인하실 때, 하나님은 심오한 약속을 하셨습니다. “네 씨가 그 대적의 성문을 차지하리라”는 단순히 땅이나 영토에 관한 약속이 아니었습니다. 성경에서 “성문”은 권세, 통치, 다스림을 의미합니다. 따라서 성문을 차지한다는 것은 영적으로, 경제적으로, 정치적으로 책임을 지고, 다스리는 위치에 있다는 뜻입니다.
그 약속은 아브라함의 직계 후손만을 위한 것이 아니었습니다. 갈라디아서 3:16은 다음과 같이 분명히 밝힙니다. “이 약속들은 아브라함과 그 자손에게 말씀하신 것인데 … 네 자손이라 하셨으니 곧 그리스도라” 그리스도 안에 있다는 것은 당신이 아브라함의 씨이며 이 약속의 공동 상속자라는 뜻입니다. 이는 당신이 상황의 피해자가 아니라는 의미입니다. 당신은 다스릴 권세를 가지고 있습니다. 당신은 대적에 대한 권세를 가지고 있습니다.
당신은 하나님의 왕국을 위해 이 세상의 시스템을 다스릴 수 있는 능력을 받았습니다. 하나님께서 당신을 있게 하신 교육, 정부, 사업, 기술 등 모든 분야에 영향을 미칠 수 있습니다. 점유하십시오. 아브라함의 축복은 수동적이지 않습니다. 성경이 말하는 바를 기억하십시오. “세례 요한의 때부터 지금까지 천국은 침노를 당하나니 침노하는 자는 빼앗느니라”(마 11:12)
이는 유업, 영향력, 승리에 관한 것입니다. 당신의 삶과 세상의 모든 영역에서 다스리십시오. 당신은 간신히 살아남기 위해 이 땅에 있는 것이 아닙니다. 당신은 다스리기 위해 이 땅에 있습니다! 그러므로 일어나서 말하십시오. 기도와 믿음으로 가득 찬 선포와 행동으로 점유하십시오. 악이 당신의 환경을 지배하는 것을 지켜보지 마십시오. 악을 쫓아내십시오. 예수 이름의 권세로 “성문”을 점유하십시오.

POSSESSING THE GATES OF YOUR ENEMIES
“And thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies” (Genesis 22:17).
When God reaffirmed His covenant with Abraham after he offered Isaac, He made a profound promise: “Thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.” This wasn’t just about land or territory. In biblical terms, the “gate” of a city represented authority, governance, and control. Therefore, to possess the gate means to take charge spiritually, economically, and politically; to be in dominion.
That promise wasn’t just for Abraham’s immediate descendants. Galatians 3:16 makes it clear: “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made… and to thy seed, which is Christ.” Being in Christ means you’re Abraham’s seed and a joint-heir of this promise. This means you’re not a victim of circumstances. You have dominion. You have authority over the adversary.
You’re empowered to dominate the systems of this world for the Kingdom of God. You can influence education, government, business, technology—whatever field God has placed you in. Take possession. The blessing of Abraham is not passive. Remember what the Bible says, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12).
This is about inheritance, influence, and victory. Exercise dominion in every area of your life and your world. You’re not here to barely survive—you’re here to reign! So, rise up and speak. Take possession through prayer, your faith-filled declarations, and action. Don’t watch evil dominate your environment; cast it out. Possess the “gates” through the authority in the Name of Jesus.
CONFESSION
I am Abraham’s seed and an heir of the promise. I possess the gates of my enemies. I take charge in my city, my nation, and my world. I influence systems and structures for the Kingdom of God. I walk in dominion and victory today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
