“쉬지 말고 기도하라”(살전 5:17)
기도는 그리스도인으로서 우리가 하는 제사장 직분 혹은 사역의 일부입니다. 따라서 당신은 기도의 사람이 되어야 합니다. 당신은 기도에 꾸준해야 합니다. 이것은 매우 중요합니다. 당신이 기도하기 전까지는 어떤 일들은 변하지 않을 것입니다. 바로 기도의 능력과 영향력 때문입니다.
요한계시록 5:8은 우리의 기도에 대한 강력한 사실을 알려줍니다. “그 두루마리를 취하시매 네 생물과 이십사 장로들이 그 어린 양 앞에 엎드려 각각 거문고와 향이 가득한 금 대접을 가졌으니 이 향은 성도의 기도들이라” 구약에서 주님은 제사장들에게 아침과 저녁에 성막에서 향을 피우라고 지시하셨습니다. 그러나 성경은 그것이 장차 올 것들의 그림자라고 말합니다(히 10:1).
수년 후, 사도 요한은 성령으로 말미암아 하늘을 보고 이 놀라운 진리를 보게 됩니다. “…금 대접을 가졌으니 이 향들은 성도들의 기도들이라” 당신이 이 땅에서 기도할 때, 그 기도는 주님 앞에 향처럼 올라갑니다. 다윗 왕은 이에 대한 계시를 가지고 있었습니다. 주님은 우리의 기도가 실제로 하나님 앞에 향으로 놓여진다는 것을 이해하도록 그를 인도하셨습니다. 그래서 그는 시편 141:2에서 이렇게 말했습니다. “나의 기도가 주의 앞에 분향함과 같이 되며…”
당신의 중보 기도는 하나님께 상달되고, 원수의 계획을 무너뜨리며, 하늘의 영역에서 일들을 바꾸고, 이 땅에서 긍정적인 변화를 일으킵니다. 따라서 당신은 항상 기도해야 합니다. 오늘의 본문 구절은 “쉬지 말고 기도하라”고 말합니다. 기도를 진지하게 생각하십시오. 그러면 당신은 삶의 변화와 당신 안팎에서 나타나는 성령님의 더 큰 영향력과 임재에 놀라게 될 것입니다.
가능한 한 모든 것으로부터 자신을 분리하고 기도하십시오. 기회가 있을 때마다 방언으로 기도하십시오. 그리고 어떤 이유로든 정해진 기도 시간을 놓쳤다면, 그 후 곧바로 기도하십시오. 야고보서 5:16은 말합니다. “… 의인의 간구는 역사하는 힘이 크니라”
그러므로 기도하십시오. 지속적으로 기도하십시오. “나는 어제 기도했으니 이번 주는 다 기도한 셈이다”라고 말하지 마십시오. 우리에게 주어진 명령은 쉬지 말고 기도하는 것입니다. 지금은 그 어느 때보다 중요한 시기입니다. 따라서 우리는 휴거 전에 구원받아야 할 마지막 영혼을 왕국으로 인도할 때까지 기도를 멈추지 말고 지속해야 합니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 내 영이 하나님의 완전한 뜻과 일치하여 점점 더 커져가는 영광 가운데 행할 수 있도록 주신 기도의 특권과 능력에 감사드립니다. 내 삶은 하나님의 영으로 말미암아 조율되고, 나는 지속적으로 강건해지고, 인도받고, 성공을 위해 준비되어 있습니다. 어떤 상황도 나를 넘어설 수 없습니다. 나는 항상 승리와 성공의 자리에서 기능하기 때문입니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

PERSIST IN PRAYER
“Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
Prayer is part of our priestly service or ministry as Christians. Therefore, you must be a man or woman of prayer. You must be persistent in prayer. This is sacrosanct. Certain things will not change until you pray, and that’s because of the power and effects of prayer.
Revelation 5:8 reveals something powerful about our prayers. It says, “…the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.” In the Old Testament, the Lord gave instructions to the priest to burn incense morning and evening in the Tabernacle. But the Bible says all that was a shadow of things to come (Hebrews 10:1).
Many years later, the Apostle John, by the Spirit, sees into the heavens and is shown this amazing truth: “…golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.” When you pray in the earth, it goes before the Lord as incense. King David had a revelation of this; the Lord had guided him to understand that our prayers are actually set before God as incense. So he said in Psalms 141:2, “Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense….”
Your intercessory prayers go up to God, topple the plans of the enemy and change things in the heavenly realm, resulting in positive changes in the earth. That’s why you should always pray. Our opening verse says, “Pray without ceasing.” Take prayer seriously and you’ll be amazed at the changes in your life and the greater influence and impact of the Holy Spirit in and around you.
Whenever possible, separate yourself from everything else and pray. Speak in tongues at every opportunity you get. And if for some reason you miss your scheduled time of prayer, make sure you pray soon afterwards. James 5:16 AMPC says, “…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].”
So, pray, and persist in prayer. Don’t say, “I prayed yesterday, that should take me through the whole week”; no! The injunction is for us to pray without ceasing. The stakes are much higher than ever. Therefore, we must persist in prayer until the last soul that must be won is reached and brought into the Kingdom before the Rapture of the Church.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the privilege and power of prayer through which my spirit is aligned with your perfect will to walk in ever-increasing glory. My life is orchestrated by your Spirit, and I’m continually strengthened, guided and positioned for success. No situation is beyond me because I operate from a place of victory and triumph always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
