담대함은 성령으로부터 옵니다
Boldness Is Of The Spirit
“술 취하지 말라 이는 방탕한 것이니 오직 성령으로 충만함을 받으라” (엡 5:18)
어떤 사람이 “어떻게 나의 담대함이나 용기를 발전시켜서 복음을 전파할 수 있습니까?”라고 물었습니다. 답은 간단합니다. 성령으로 충만하십시오. 성령으로 충만하다면 당신은 항상 담대할 것입니다. 사도행전에서 우리는 사도들이 성령으로 담대해진 것을 볼 수 있습니다. 그들의 담대함은 인간의 능력에서 나온 것이 아니라 성령으로 충만해진 결과였습니다.
고린도전서 14장 4절은 말합니다. “방언을 말하는 자는 자기의 덕을 세우고 예언하는 자는 교회의 덕을 세우나니” 여기서 “세우다”라는 단어는 담대하게 만든다는 뜻도 가지고 있습니다. 방언을 말하는 사람은 자신을 담대하게 만듭니다. 당신이 방언으로 기도할수록 성령 안에서 당신의 영이 더 활성화되고, 당신은 더 담대해집니다.
시몬 베드로를 생각해 보십시오. 그는 성령을 받기 전에는 겁이 많았습니다. 예수님이 십자가에 못 박히실 때, 주님이 체포되셨을 때, 베드로는 그분을 안다고 말하기를 거부했습니다. 그는 바람에 흔들리는 갈대인 시몬이라고 불렸습니다. 그러나 그가 성령을 받은 후 모든 것이 변했습니다. 오순절 날, 성령으로 충만해진 베드로는 많은 무리 앞에 서서 담대하게 그리스도를 선포했습니다. 겁이 많던 시몬은 성령으로 말미암아 반석 같은 베드로가 되었습니다.
오늘날 동일한 성령님이 당신 안에 계십니다. 에베소서 5장 18절은 우리가 계속해서 성령으로 충만해져야 한다고 말하며, 그 방법도 알려줍니다. “시와 찬송과 신령한 노래들로 서로 화답하며 너희의 마음으로 주께 노래하며 찬송하며 범사에 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 항상 아버지 하나님께 감사하며 그리스도를 경외함으로 피차 복종하라”(엡 5:19-21)
당신이 자주 방언으로 기도하고, 영적인 노래를 부르고, 항상 감사한다면, 성령으로 충만한 상태를 유지할 수 있습니다. 그리고 성령으로 충만할 때, 담대함은 자연스럽게 나타납니다. 당신은 어디에서나 누구에게나 하나님의 말씀을 담대하게 전하고, 가르치고, 나누는 자신을 발견하게 될 것입니다. 그 담대함은 성령으로 말미암은 것입니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 내 안에 거하시는 성령님께 감사드립니다. 성령님은 내가 복음을 전파하고 언제나 하나님의 의를 나타낼 수 있도록 담대함으로 나를 충만케 하십니다. 나는 성령으로 말미암아 능력으로 충만합니다. 내 속사람은 강건해지고, 나는 하나님의 말씀을 선포하며 많은 사람을 구원으로 인도할 때 기적을 행하는 능력으로 활력을 얻습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

BOLDNESS IS OF THE SPIRIT
“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18).
Someone once asked, “How do I develop the boldness or courage to minister the Gospel?” The answer is simple: be filled with the Spirit. If you’re filled with the Holy Spirit, you’ll be bold. In the book of Acts, we see that the Apostles were emboldened by the Spirit. Their confidence wasn’t from human ability but from being filled with the Holy Ghost.
The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 14:4, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.” The word “edifieth” also means emboldens. The one who speaks in tongues emboldens himself. The more you pray in tongues, the more your spirit is stirred in the Holy Ghost, and the bolder you become.
Think of Simon Peter. Before he received the Holy Spirit, he was timid. At the crucifixion of Jesus, when the Lord was arrested, Peter denied even knowing Him. He was called Simon, a reed, shaken by the wind. But after he received the Holy Spirit, everything changed. On the day of Pentecost, filled with the Spirit, he stood before a massive crowd and boldly proclaimed Christ. The timid Simon had become Peter the Rock, empowered by the Holy Ghost.
The same Spirit is in you today. Ephesians 5:18 instructs us to be continually filled with the Spirit and also tells us how: “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.” (Ephesians 5:19–21).
When you pray in tongues often, sing spiritual songs, and give thanks always, you stay full of the Spirit. And when you’re full of the Spirit, boldness is natural. You’ll find yourself confidently preaching, teaching, and sharing the Word of God anywhere and with anyone. That boldness is of the Spirit.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the Holy Spirit who dwells in me and fills me with boldness to preach the Gospel and manifest your righteousness at all times. I’m full of power by the Holy Spirit, strengthened with might in my inner man and invigorated with miracle-working ability as I declare your Word everywhere, leading many to salvation, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
