주 예수님은 그 어떤 위대한 혹은 존경 받는 종교 지도자보다 훨씬 더 위대하십니다. 예수님은 육신 안에 거하시는 신성의 총체이십니다. 그분은 신성의 화신이십니다. 우리가 주 예수님에 대해 말할 때, 우리는 하나님에 대해 말하는 것입니다. 디도서 2장 13-14절은 예수님을 “위대하신 하나님”이라고 묘사합니다. “복된 소망과 위대하신 하나님이시며 우리 구주이신 예수 그리스도의 영광스러운 나타나심을 기다리게 하셨으니…”(한글 킹제임스)
예수님은 모든 지혜와 지식의 총체이십니다. 골로새서 2장 3절은 말합니다. “그 안에는 지혜와 지식의 모든 보화가 감추어져 있느니라” 할렐루야! 예수님이 갈릴리, 나사렛, 예루살렘 거리를 걸으실 때, 지혜가 걸어 다닌 것입니다. 지혜가 의인화된 모습이었습니다. 육신을 입으신 하나님이 이 땅을 걸으셨습니다.
이러한 이해가 당신의 영에 임할 때, 당신은 주 예수님과 동일시되고 그분의 이름으로 기도하는 것이 진정 무엇을 의미하는지 알게 됩니다. 예수님의 이름은 하늘과 땅과 땅 아래에서 모든 권세를 가지고 있습니다. 그리고 요한계시록은 우리에게 놀라운 사실을 알려줍니다. 사도 요한이 전능하신 하나님의 위대한 보좌를 보았을 때, 그 보좌에 앉아 계신 분은 주 예수님이셨습니다. 이는 예수님이 진정 어떤 분이신지 알려줍니다.
구약에서 하나님은 여러 이름을 통해 이스라엘에 자신을 계시하셨습니다. 여호와 라파(주님은 나의 치유자), 여호와 치드케누(주님은 나의 의), 여호와 샬롬(주님은 나의 평강) 등입니다. 그러나 성경은 하나님께서 그분의 모든 이름보다 그분의 말씀을 더 높이셨다고 말합니다(시 138:2). 그럼 말씀은 누구입니까? 바로 예수 그리스도입니다. 예수님은 육신이 되신 말씀입니다.
성경은 말합니다. “하늘에 있는 자들과 땅에 있는 자들과 땅 아래에 있는 자들로 모든 무릎을 예수의 이름에 꿇게 하시고 모든 입으로 예수 그리스도를 주라 시인하여 하나님 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하셨느니라”(빌 2:10-11) 예수님이 어떤 분이신지 알게 된다면 그분을 사랑할 수밖에 없습니다. 그분을 아는 것은 곧 그분을 사랑하는 것입니다. 예수님은 하나님의 인격, 영광, 의, 사랑의 표현이시기 때문입니다. 하나님을 송축합니다!
기도
주 예수님, 주님을 경배하고 사랑합니다. 주님은 가장 위대하시며, 전능하시고, 하늘과 땅의 주권을 가지셨습니다. 주님은 영광의 위대한 하나님이시며, 세상의 구원자이시며, 의와 영원의 왕이십니다. 주님은 은혜로우시고, 영광스러우시고, 언제나 사랑하시며, 신실하시고, 참되시고, 영원히 의로우십니다. 나는 주님의 이름 안에서 승리하며 살아갑니다. 주님은 나의 생명이시며, 빛이시며, 나의 전부이시기 때문입니다. 아멘.

THE EXPRESSION AND EMBODIMENT OF DIVINITY
“For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell” (Colossians 1:19).
The Lord Jesus is much more than a great or highly honoured religious leader; He’s the totality of divinity in flesh. He’s the embodiment of Deity. Titus 2:13-14 describes Him as “the great God”: “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ….”
He’s also the totality of all wisdom and knowledge: Colossians 2:3, “In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Hallelujah! When He walked the streets of Galilee, Nazareth, and Jerusalem, that was Wisdom walking; that was Wisdom personified; God in the flesh was taking His steps upon the earth.
When this understanding dawns on your spirit, you’ll know what it truly means to be identified with the Lord Jesus and to pray in His Name. His Name has all authority in heaven, in earth, and under the earth. And in the Book of Revelation, the Bible tells us something staggering. When the apostle John saw the great throne of Almighty God, the One seated upon it was the Lord Jesus. That tells you who He really is.
In the Old Testament, God revealed Himself to Israel through different names: Jehovah Rapha (the Lord my healer), Jehovah Tsidkenu (the Lord my righteousness), Jehovah Shalom (the Lord my peace), and so on. But the Bible says He has magnified His Word above all His names (Psalm 138:2). Who’s the Word? Jesus Christ; He’s the Word made flesh.
Now the Bible says, “…at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10–11). To know Him is to love Him, for He is the very expression of God’s person, glory, righteousness and love. Blessed be God!
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I worship and adore you; you’re the greatest, the all-powerful and sovereign Lord of heaven and earth. You’re the great God of glory, saviour of the world, the King of righteousness and eternity. You’re gracious, glorious, ever-loving, faithful, true, and forever just. I live triumphantly in your Name, for you’re my life, my light and my all. Amen.
