Sent As A Witness
“하나님께로부터 보내심을 받은 사람이 있으니 그의 이름은 요한이라” (요 1:6)
어떤 사람들은 “하나님이 나를 보내셨다”고 말해서는 안 된다고 주장하지만, 성경은 이미 그 사실을 분명히 밝혔습니다. 주 예수님은 요한복음 20장 21절에서 “…아버지께서 나를 보내신 것 같이 나도 너희를 보내노라”고 말씀하셨습니다. 또한 오늘의 본문 구절에서 읽었듯이 하나님께로부터 보내심을 받은 요한이 있었습니다. 그러므로 당신은 요한처럼 하나님이 보내신 사람입니다. 당신은 증인으로 보내심을 받았습니다.
당신은 인생의 방랑자가 아닙니다. 당신은 신성한 전달자입니다. 당신은 이 땅에 있는 하늘의 대사입니다. “그러므로 우리가 그리스도를 대신하여 사신이 되어…”(고후 5:20) 당신은 빛을 운반하는 자입니다. 그리고 그 이상으로, 당신은 빛입니다. “너희는 세상의 빛이라…”(마 5:14) 당신은 사람들의 길을 밝히고 그리스도의 구원의 메시지로 열방을 비추기 위해 보냄을 받았습니다.
누구도 당신을 설득하지 못하게 하십시오. 당신은 목적을 가지고 태어났습니다. 당신은 자신의 세대를 위한 증인으로 세상에 왔습니다. 당신의 삶은 하나님의 메시지입니다. 증인이 된다는 것은 제자를 만드는 것을 의미합니다. 주님의 지시는 사람들을 그리스도께로 인도하는 것뿐만 아니라 그들을 제자로 삼는 것이었습니다. “그러므로 너희는 가서 모든 민족을 제자로 삼아 아버지와 아들과 성령의 이름으로 침례를 베풀고 내가 너희에게 분부한 모든 것을 가르쳐 지키게 하라 볼지어다 내가 세상 끝날까지 너희와 항상 함께 있으리라 하시니라”(마 28:19-20)
이는 당신이 복음으로 만나는 사람들이 당신의 믿음을 따르고 지켜야 한다는 뜻입니다. 그들은 교리, 기도, 왕국의 사역에서 당신의 발자취를 따라야 합니다. 그들은 당신이 따르는 비전을 따라야 합니다. 사도 바울은 이것을 이해하고 다음과 같이 말했습니다. “내가 그리스도를 본받는 자가 된 것 같이 너희는 나를 본받는 자가 되라”(고전 11:1) 참된 제자는 자신이 걷고 있는 길로 다른 사람들을 인도합니다. 제자는 제자를 만듭니다. 그러므로 영혼 구원에 헌신하고 일관되게 행하십시오. 당신의 부르심에 대해 담대하고 당신의 신성한 사명에 대해 신실하십시오.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 나를 이 세대에 하나님의 증인으로 선택하시고 보내주셔서 감사합니다. 나는 하나님의 말씀의 빛 가운데 행하며 어디에서나 하나님의 영광을 나타냅니다. 나는 하나님의 영의 능력으로 제자를 삼고, 그들을 의의 길로 가르치고 인도합니다. 나는 나의 부르심에 대해 담대하고 나의 사명에 대해 신실합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

SENT AS A WITNESS
“There was a man sent from God, whose name was John” (John 1:6).
Some people argue that no one should say, “God sent me,” but the Scripture already settles that. The Lord Jesus said in John 20:21, “…as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.” Moreover, we read in our opening scripture that there was a man sent from God whose name was John. So, like John, you’re God-sent. You’ve been sent as a witness with the power of the Holy Spirit.
You’re not a wanderer in life; you’re a divine envoy. You’re heaven’s ambassador in the earth: “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ…” (2 Corinthians 5:20). You’re a light bearer, and more than that, you’re light: “Ye are the light of the world…” (Matthew 5:14). You’ve been sent to illuminate men’s path and light up the nations with the message of Christ’s salvation.
Refuse to let anyone convince you otherwise; you were born with a purpose. You came as a witness to your generation. Your life is God’s message. And being a witness means making disciples. The Master’s instruction wasn’t to simply lead men to Christ but to also make disciples of them: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:19-20).
That means those you reach with the Gospel are to follow and observe your faith. They should walk in your steps in doctrine, in prayer, and in Kingdom service. They’re to follow the vision you’re following. The Apostle Paul understood this when he said, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1). True disciples lead others in the path they themselves are walking. Disciples make disciples. So, stay committed and be consistent in soul winning. Be bold about your calling and faithful to your divine mission.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for choosing and sending me as your witness to my generation. I walk in the light of your Word and reflect your glory everywhere. I make disciples through the power of your Spirit, teaching and guiding them in the path of righteousness. I’m bold about my calling and faithful to my mission, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
