The Immense Value Of A Soul
“또 천국은 마치 좋은 진주를 구하는 장사와 같으니 극히 값진 진주 하나를 발견하매 가서 자기의 소유를 다 팔아 그 진주를 사느니라” (마 13:45-46)
주 예수님은 천국을 값진 진주를 찾는 상인에 비유하셨습니다. 상인이 값진 진주 하나를 발견했을 때, 그는 그것을 사기 위해 자신이 가진 모든 것을 팔았습니다. 이는 한 영혼에 두신 하나님의 엄청난 가치를 보여줍니다. 모든 영혼은 하나님께 중요한 의미가 있습니다. 그들은 예수 그리스도의 생명과 같은 가치가 있기 때문입니다.
당신은 교회, 교제 모임, 혹은 셀 그룹을 성장시키기 위해 사람들에게 다가가는 것이 아닙니다. 우리는 단순히 숫자를 늘리는 것이 아닙니다. 우리는 보물을 찾고 있습니다. 당신이 기도하고, 격려하고, 포기하지 않으려고 노력한 그 한 사람은 하늘의 눈에 귀한 진주입니다.
수년 전, 저는 호기심이 많고 산만하며 많은 것에 확신이 없던 13살의 청소년이었습니다. 하지만 저를 포기하지 않으신 분이 계셨습니다. 그는 계속 저를 따라다니며, 손을 내밀고, 제가 집중할 수 있도록 도와주고, 주님을 섬기도록 도와주셨습니다. 그는 하나님께서 저를 하나님의 일에 굳건히 세우기 위해 사용하신 사람이었습니다. 그의 끈기가 아니었다면 저는 사역에 발을 들이지 못했을 수도 있습니다.
그것이 바로 당신의 중보와 지속적인 관리가 다른 사람을 위해 할 수 있는 일입니다. 그것이 바로 당신의 지속적인 중보 기도가 성취할 수 있는 일입니다. 당신이 누군가를 그리스도께 인도하거나 새로운 그리스도인이 세워지도록 돕는다면, 당신은 그의 세대에 영향을 미치고 운명을 구원하는 것입니다. 그러므로 한 영혼의 가치를 절대 과소평가하지 마십시오.
주님께서 잃어버린 양에 대해 말씀하셨을 때의 가르침을 떠올려 보십시오. 주님은 회개할 필요가 없는 의인 아흔 아홉으로 말미암은 기쁨보다 회개하는 죄인 한 사람으로 말미암은 기쁨이 하늘에서 더 크다고 말씀하셨습니다(눅 15:7). 당신이 기도하고, 부르고, 방문하고, 격려하는 그 한 사람은 그저 또 다른 사람이 아니라 천국의 기쁨입니다. 측량할 수 없는 가치를 지닌 진주입니다. 그리고 주 예수님은 그 한 사람을 얻기 위해 모든 것을 주는 것이 가치 있다고 말씀하십니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 모든 영혼에 부여하신 가치에 감사드립니다. 나는 하나님의 눈으로 보고, 하나님께서 세상에 다가가신 그 동일한 사랑과 끈질긴 열정으로 다른 사람들에게 다가갑니다. 나는 모든 영혼이 값진 진주임을 인식하고, 열정과 은혜와 성령의 능력으로 그들을 향해 나아갑니다. 나를 영혼 구원자로 만들어 주셔서 감사합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

THE IMMENSE VALUE OF A SOUL
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it” (Matthew 13:45–46).
The Lord Jesus likened the Kingdom of heaven to a merchant seeking precious pearls. And when he found one pearl of great price, he sold everything he had to purchase it. This shows us the immense value God places on a single soul. Every soul matters deeply to God, for they’re worth the life of Jesus Christ.
You’re not just reaching people to grow your church, fellowship or cell group; we’re not merely adding numbers; we’re going after treasures. That one person you prayed for, followed up, encouraged, and refused to give up on, even when they seemed disinterested or resistant to the message, is seen by Heaven as a pearl of great price.
Many years ago, I was just a young teenager, about 13 years old, curious, distracted, and unsure of many things. But there was a gentleman who wouldn’t give up on me. He kept following me up, reaching out, helping me stay focused, serving the Lord. He was one person God used to help me get steady in the things of God. But for his persistence, I might never have stepped into ministry.
That’s what your intercession and follow-up can do for someone. That’s what your consistent prayers of intercession can achieve. When you lead someone to Christ or help stabilize a new Christian, you may be impacting generations and rescuing a destiny. So, never underestimate the worth of one soul.
Recall the teaching of the Master when He talked about the lost sheep. He said there’s exceeding joy in heaven over one sinner that repents than over ninety-nine just persons that need no repentance (Luke 15:7). That one person you’re praying for, calling, visiting, and encouraging is not just another face, but heaven’s delight; a pearl of inestimable value. And the Lord Jesus says it’s worth giving everything to win that one.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the value you’ve placed on every soul. I see through your eyes and reach out to others with the same love and tenacity with which you reached out to the world. I recognise that every soul is a pearl of great price, and I’m inspired to go after them with passion and grace, and in the power of the Spirit. Thank you for making me a soul winner, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
