You Can Count On Him
“밤에 주께서 환상 가운데 바울에게 말씀하시되 두려워하지 말며 침묵하지 말고 말하라 내가 너와 함께 있으매 어떤 사람도 너를 대적하여 해롭게 할 자가 없을 것이니 이는 이 성중에 내 백성이 많음이라 하시더라” (행 18:9-10)
영혼 구원자로서 주님께서 당신의 방패가 되십니다. 당신이 다른 사람들에게 예수 그리스도를 증거할 때, 그분이 당신을 해악이나 악으로부터 보호하고 지키실 것을 믿을 수 있습니다. 항상 함께하시는 그분의 인도와 보호를 신뢰하십시오. 당신은 이 신성한 임무를 혼자 수행하는 것이 아닙니다. 당신을 보내신 분이 당신과 함께하시며, 당신에게 말씀하시고 당신을 통해 말씀하십니다.
사도행전 18장을 보면, 바울은 예수님이 주님이시라는 복음을 전하다가 유대인들의 강한 반대에 부딪히자 이방인들에게로 갔습니다. 주님은 바울을 인도하셨고, 바울은 회당장인 그리스보와 그의 온 집안, 많은 고린도인을 믿게 하고 구원받게 했습니다(행 18:7-8). 성경은 말합니다. “그런데 어느 날 밤에, 환상 가운데 주님께서 바울에게 말씀하셨다. “무서워하지 말아라. 잠자코 있지 말고, 끊임없이 말하여라. 내가 너와 함께 있으니, 아무도 너에게 손을 대어 해하지 못할 것이다. 이 도시에는 나의 백성이 많다.” 바울은 그들 가운데서 하나님의 말씀을 가르치면서, 일 년 육 개월 동안 머물렀다.”(행 18:9-11, 새번역)
주님은 바울을 무력하게 두거나 불확실한 상태로 두지 않으셨습니다. 주님은 바울에게 말씀하셨고, 항상 함께하는 인도와 보호를 확신시켜 주셨습니다. 이 일은 바울이 나중에 두 편의 서신을 썼던 중요한 도시인 고린도에서 일어났습니다. 사실, 성경 공부를 통해 우리는 바울이 성경에 포함되지 않은 세 번째 편지도 썼다는 것을 알 수 있습니다.
그러나 고린도에서 중요한 순간에 바울은 확신이 필요했고, 주님은 그에게 확신을 주셨습니다. 주님의 말씀으로 담대해진 바울은 그곳에 1년 6개월 동안 머물며 하나님의 말씀을 담대함과 능력으로 가르치고 제자들을 세웠습니다. 하나님께 감사드립니다. 동일한 성령님께서 당신이 다른 사람들을 제자 삼을 때 당신 안에서, 당신과 함께, 당신을 통해 역사하고 계십니다.
성령님께서 당신과 함께, 당신 안에서, 당신을 통해 사역하심을 인식하십시오. 예수님은 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 세상 끝날까지 너희와 항상 함께 있으리라”(마 28:20) 그분과 함께라면 당신은 반대에 맞서고 당신의 신성한 임무를 영광스럽게 성취할 것입니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 항상 함께 하시는 임재와 내가 결코 혼자가 아님을 보장하심에 감사합니다. 나는 하나님의 영으로 인도받고, 영혼 구원에 효과적이고, 담대하고, 용감하도록 힘을 얻습니다. 오늘 구원을 받도록 지명되고 준비된 사람들로 인해 감사합니다. 하나님의 진리가 온 세상에 선포됩니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

YOU CAN COUNT ON HIM
“Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city” (Acts 18:9–10).
As a soul winner, the Lord Himself is your defence. You can count on Him to protect and keep you from harm or evil as you go about witnessing to others about Jesus Christ. Be confident in His ever-present guidance and protection. You’re not alone in this divine assignment. He who sent you is with you, and He speaks to you and through you.
Think about Paul, in Acts 18, after he faced strong opposition from the Jews for preaching that Jesus is Lord, he turned to the Gentiles. The Lord guided Him and he led Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, his entire household, and many of the Corinthians to believe and receive salvation Acts 18:7-8). Then the Bible says, “One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.” So Paul stayed in Corinth for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God” (Acts 18:9-11 NIV).
The Lord didn’t leave Paul hamstrung or in uncertainty. He spoke to him and assured him of His ever-present guidance and protection. This happened in Corinth, a city so significant that Paul later wrote two epistles to the church there. In fact, from Bible study, we understand he even wrote a third letter that isn’t in the canon of Scripture.
But at that crucial moment in Corinth, Paul needed reassurance, and the Lord gave it to him. Emboldened by the Word of the Lord, Paul remained there for a year and six months, teaching the Word of God with boldness and power, raising disciples. And thanks be unto God, the same Spirit is working in, with and through you as you disciple others.
Be conscious of His ministry with, in, and through you. He said, “…surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20, NIV). With Him, you’ll navigate opposition and accomplish your divine assignment gloriously.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for your ever-abiding presence and the assurance that I’m never alone. I’m guided by your Spirit, and strengthened to be effective, bold and courageous in soul winning. Thank you for those you’ve appointed and prepared to receive salvation today, as your truth is proclaimed all around the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
