거듭남 – 영적 실재
Being Born Again – A Spiritual Reality
“그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다”(고후 5:17)
존경받는 유대인 교사 니고데모가 주 예수님을 찾아왔습니다. 그는 유대인 지도자였지만, 그의 종교성에도 불구하고 무언가가 부족했습니다. 주님은 그를 보시고 그의 모든 종교적 지식과 의식을 꿰뚫는 심오한 말씀을 하셨습니다. “진실로 진실로 네게 이르노니 사람이 거듭나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라를 볼 수 없느니라”(요 3:3)
니고데모는 약간 당황하며 “사람이 늙으면 어떻게 날 수 있사옵나이까”(요 3:4)라고 물었습니다. 그러나 주 예수님은 육신적인 탄생에 대해 말씀하신 것이 아니었습니다. 그분은 깊은 영적 진리를 밝히셨습니다. 거듭남은 단순한 종교적 말이나 현상이 아닌 영적 실재입니다. 이는 완전히 새로운 생명, 곧 하나님의 생명과 본성을 받는 것입니다.
거듭났을 때 당신은 종교 안으로 들어온 것이 아닙니다. 초자연적인 변화가 일어났습니다. 실제로 다시 태어난 것입니다. 당신의 인간 생명은 신성한 생명으로 대체되었습니다. 영 안에서 실제로 무언가가 일어났습니다. 당신은 사망에서 생명과 불멸로 옮겨졌습니다. “내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 내 말을 듣고 또 나 보내신 이를 믿는 자는 영생을 얻었고 심판에 이르지 아니하나니 사망에서 생명으로 옮겼느니라”(요 5:24)
이제 당신은 거듭났으므로 주님의 영으로 말미암아 말씀으로 태어났습니다. “육으로 난 것은 육이요 영으로 난 것은 영이니 내가 네게 거듭나야 하겠다 하는 말을 놀랍게 여기지 말라”(요 3:6-7) 베드로전서 1:23은 “너희가 거듭난 것은 썩어질 씨로 된 것이 아니요 썩지 아니할 씨로 된 것이니 살아 있고 항상 있는 하나님의 말씀으로 되었느니라”고 말합니다.
또한 요한복음 1:12-13은 말합니다. “영접하는 자 곧 그 이름을 믿는 자들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주셨으니 이는 혈통으로나 육정으로나 사람의 뜻으로 나지 아니하고 오직 하나님께로부터 난 자들이니라” 이것이 거듭난다는 것의 의미입니다. 당신은 문자 그대로 하나님의 생명과 본성을 당신의 영 안에 가지고 하나님으로부터 태어났습니다. 당신은 비그리스도인들과는 전혀 다른 존재입니다. 주님이 그러하심과 같이 당신도 이 세상에서 그러합니다(요일 4:17). 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 지금 내 안에서 역사하고 있는 그리스도의 초자연적인 생명에 감사드립니다. 나는 영원히 살고 거하는 썩지 않는 말씀으로 태어났습니다. 나는 평범한 사람이 아닙니다. 나는 말씀과 성령으로 거듭난 새로운 피조물입니다. 나는 영광과 의로 충만한 더 높은 삶을 삽니다. 나는 날마다 승리 가운데 걷습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

BEING BORN AGAIN — A SPIRITUAL REALITY
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Once, a respected Jewish teacher, Nicodemus by name, came to see the Lord Jesus. He was a ruler among the Jews, but despite his religiosity, something was missing. The Master looked at him and made a profound statement that cut through all his religious knowledge and rituals: “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).
Nicodemus, somewhat flustered, asked, “How can a man be born when he is old?” But the Lord Jesus wasn’t speaking of physical birth; He was revealing a deep spiritual truth. Being born again isn’t a mere religious cliché or phenomenon, but a spiritual reality. It means receiving a brand-new life—the life and nature of God Himself.
When you were born again, you weren’t brought into a religion; there was a supernatural transformation. It was an actual rebirth. Your human life was supplanted by the divine life at the new birth. Something actually took place in the spirit; you were brought from death into life and immortality: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24).
Now that you’re born again, you’re born of the Word by the Spirit of the Lord: “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again” (John 3:6-7). 1 Peter 1:23 says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”
The Bible also says in John 1:12-13 says, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” This is what it means to be born again; you’re literally and vitally born of God, with His life and nature in your spirit. You’re taxonomically different from the non-Christians. As Jesus is, so are you in this world (I John 4:17). Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the supernatural life of Christ that’s now at work in me. I’m born of the incorruptible Word, which lives and abides forever; I’m not an ordinary person. I’m a new creation, born of your Word and your Spirit. I live the higher life, full of glory and righteousness. I walk in victory every day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
