“이는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 생명의 성령의 법이 죄와 사망의 법에서 너를 해방하였음이라”(롬 8:2)
사도 요한은 요한일서 3:4에서 “죄를 짓는 자마다 불법을 행하나니 죄는 불법이라”고 말합니다. 그러나 바울은 디모데전서 1:9에서 “알 것은 이것이니 율법은 옳은 사람을 위하여 세운 것이 아니요…”라고 말합니다. 그리고 우리는 의인입니다. 그렇다면 “그리스도인으로서 우리는 어떤 율법 아래 있는가?”라는 질문이 생깁니다.
그렇습니다. 우리는 여전히 법 아래 있습니다. 그러나 이는 다른 종류의 법입니다. 모세의 율법이 아닙니다. 죄와 사망의 법이 아닙니다. 생명의 성령의 법입니다. 사도 야고보가 야고보서 1:25에서 자유의 온전한 법이라고 부른 것이 바로 이 법입니다. “그러나 자유의 온전한 법을 주시하고 그 안에 계속 머물러 있는 자는 듣고 잊어버리는 자가 아니라 오히려 실행하는 자니, 이 사람은 그의 행실로 복을 받으리라.”(한글 킹제임스)
“자유의 온전한 법”이라는 표현은 흥미로운 단어의 조합입니다. 법은 일반적으로 제한을 의미하지만, 여기서는 자유를 의미합니다. 이 법은 우리 안에서 역사하여 사탄의 제한이나 억제를 없앱니다. 예를 들어, 질병이 몸을 공격할 때, 그것은 사람의 건강에 대한 타락 혹은 억제입니다. 그러나 하나님께 감사드립니다. 성경은 예수 그리스도께서 사망을 폐하시고 생명과 썩지 아니할 것을 드러내셨다고 말합니다(딤후 1:8-10). 할렐루야!
거듭난 당신은 영생을 가지고 있고, 영생은 치유가 필요하지 않습니다. 그러므로 당신의 몸을 공격하는 것이 무엇인지 상관없습니다. 당신의 영 안에 있는 하나님의 생명을 휘저어 일으킨다면, 당신의 온 몸은 활력을 얻게 될 것입니다. 성경은 말합니다. “예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이의 영이 너희 안에 거하시면 그리스도 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이가 너희 안에 거하시는 그의 영으로 말미암아 너희 죽을 몸도 살리시리라”(롬 8:11)
당신 안에 계신 성령님은 생명을 창조하십니다. 자연계의 모든 것이 퇴보하는 반면, 당신은 생명의 영역 안에 있기 때문에 생명이 당신 안에서 그리고 당신과 연결된 모든 것 안에서 역사합니다. 당신은 사망에서 생명으로 옮겨졌습니다(요 5:24). 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 내가 살고 기능하는 자유의 온전한 법에 감사드립니다. 나는 성령의 자유 안에서 행하며 모든 한계로부터 자유롭고 하나님의 뜻을 행하도록 능력을 받았습니다. 나는 하나님의 목적이 내 안에서 그리고 나를 통해 성취되며, 내가 하는 모든 일에서 하나님의 의를 나타냅니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2).
In 1 John 3:4, the apostle John writes, “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” But then, Paul in 1 Timothy 1:9 tells us, “Knowing this that the law is not made for a righteous man…” and we are the righteous. It then gives rise to the question, “As Christians, are we under any law at all?”
Yes, we are, but it’s a different kind of law. It’s not the Law of Moses. It’s not the law of sin and death. It’s the law of the Spirit of life. That’s what the apostle James called the perfect law of liberty in James 1:25: “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”
That phrase, “perfect law of liberty” is an interesting play of words. Law typically implies restriction, yet here it produces liberty. This law works inside us to cancel the restrictions or inhibitions from Satan. For example, when sickness attacks the body, it’s a corruption or an inhibition of the person’s health. But thanks be unto God, the Bible says Jesus Christ abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light” (2 Timothy 1:8-10). Hallelujah!
Being born again, you have eternal life, and eternal life doesn’t require healing. Therefore, it doesn’t matter what attacks your body; if you’d stir up the life of God in your spirit, your whole body will be vitalized. The Bible says, “If the Spirit of Him that raised up Christ from the dead, lives in you, He’ll vitalize your body” (Romans 8:11).
The Holy Spirit in you is life-generating. Whereas everything in the natural world degenerates, life works in you and in everything that’s connected to you, because you’re in the realm of life. You’ve passed from death to life (John 5:24). Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the perfect law of liberty by which I live and function. I walk in the liberty of the Spirit, free from every limitation and empowered to execute your will. I declare that your purpose is fulfilled in and through me, and I bring forth your righteousness in all I do, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
