Take Possession Of The Nations
“여호수아가 이스라엘 자손에게 이르되 너희가 너희 조상의 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 주신 땅을 점령하러 가기를 어느 때까지 지체하겠느냐”(수 18:3)
여호수아 말씀은 이스라엘 백성의 여정에서 매우 중요한 시기를 다룹니다. 모세가 이스라엘 백성을 이집트에서 데리고 나왔지만, 약속의 땅으로 데려간 사람은 여호수아였다는 것을 기억하십시오. 여호수아는 오랜 세월 동안 싸우고 31명의 왕을 물리친 후, 이스라엘 백성을 그들의 유업의 땅으로 데려갔습니다.
성경은 말합니다. “이스라엘 자손의 온 회중이 실로에 모여서 거기에 회막을 세웠으며 그 땅은 그들 앞에서 돌아와 정복되었더라”(수 18:1) 그 땅이 그들에게 정복되었고 그들은 평안을 누렸습니다. 그들은 기쁘게 이동하여 실로에 교회를 세웠습니다. 그러나 다음 구절은 절반 이상의 지파가 유업을 나누어 받았음에도 불구하고 차지하지 않았음을 보여줍니다. “그러나 이스라엘 자손 중에 그 기업의 분배를 받지 못한 자가 아직도 일곱 지파라”(수 18:2)
여호수아는 노년이 되어 자손들에게 걱정하며 물었습니다. “너희가 너희 조상의 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 주신 땅을 점령하러 가기를 어느 때까지 지체하겠느냐”(수 18:3) 이스라엘 백성들은 그 땅이 어디에 있는지 알고 있었습니다. 하나님께서 그들에게 설명해 주셨기 때문입니다. 그들은 그 땅을 차지하기보다 그들의 형제들과 함께 지내며 평화를 누리는 것에 만족했습니다.
하나님께서는 우리에게 열방을 주셨습니다. 그러므로 이미 우리에게 속한 것을 소유하는 데 지체하지 않는 것이 중요합니다. 시편 2:8은 말합니다. “내게 구하라 내가 이방 나라를 네 유업으로 주리니 네 소유가 땅 끝까지 이르리로다” 우리는 구했고, 받았습니다. 영혼 구원을 위한 특별한 기회를 기다리지 마십시오. 당신은 지금 그 기회를 맞이했습니다.
하나님께서는 당신에게 그 땅, 즉 당신이 있는 그곳을 주셨습니다. 당신은 그곳에서 무엇을 하고 있습니까? 당신이 만날 영혼들은 어디에 있습니까? 당신이 주님께로 인도한 영혼들은 어디에 있습니까? 이제 복음 전파를 다음 단계로 끌어올릴 때입니다. 당신이 영혼을 구원하기 위해 무엇을 하든지 성령님과 함께 일한다면 그분께서 당신과 함께 그리고 당신을 통해 강력한 일들을 행하실 것입니다. 우리에게 문을 닫은 나라 혹은 도시는 없습니다. 우리가 어디를 가든지, 얼마나 작게 시작하든지 상관없이 하나님의 말씀이 전파되고 승리합니다. 할렐루야!
고백
나는 주님께서 우리에게 열방을 주셨음을 알고 담대함과 긴급함으로 어디서나 복음을 선포합니다. 그 어떤 문도 나를 대적하여 닫힐 수 없습니다. 주님께서 열방에 그분의 진리를 성령과 능력으로 나타내시기 위해 내 안에서 강력하게 역사하고 계시기 때문입니다. 할렐루야!

TAKE POSSESSION OF THE NATIONS
“And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?” (Joshua 18:3).
The book of Joshua opens up a very important period in the Israelites’ journey. Remember that it was Moses who brought them out of Egypt, but it was Joshua who took them into the Promised Land. After many years of fighting and defeating 31 kings, Joshua brought the children of Israel into their place of inheritance.
The Bible says, “And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them” (Joshua 18:1). The land was subdued before them and they were at rest. They moved in happily and even set up church in Shiloh. The next verse however reveals that more than half of the tribes hadn’t taken over their inheritance even though it had been divided for them: “And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance” (Joshua 18:2).
Joshua, at his old age, was concerned and asked, “How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?” (Joshua 18:3). The Israelites knew where the land was because God had described it to them. Rather than possess it, they were content with squatting with their brethren and enjoying the peace.
God has given us the nations of the world and it’s important we don’t delay in possessing what already belongs to us. He said in Psalms 2:8, “Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.” We’ve asked and we’ve received. Don’t wait for some special occasion to win souls. You’re in that occasion now.
God has given you the land, that place where you are; what are you doing about it? Where are your outreaches? Where are the souls you’ve won to the Lord? It’s time to take evangelism to the next level. Whatever you want to do by way of winning souls, if you work with the Spirit, He’ll do mighty things with and through you. There’s no country or city whose doors could be closed against us. When we move into a place, regardless of how small we start, the Word of God spreads and prevails. Hallelujah!
CONFESSION
I proclaim the Gospel everywhere with boldness and urgency knowing that the Lord has given us all nations. No door can be closed against me for the Lord is mightily at work in me to declare His truth to the nations in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. Hallelujah!
