“이는 그리스도 예수 안에서 아브라함의 복이 이방인에게 미치게 하고 또 우리로 하여금 믿음으로 말미암아 성령의 약속을 받게 하려 함이라”(갈 3:14)
하나님께서 아브라함에게 그를 통해 땅의 모든 민족이 복을 받을 것이라고 약속하셨을 때, 하나님은 복음과 성령에 대해 예언적으로 말씀하신 것입니다. 갈라디아서 3:8은 하나님께서 아브라함에게 미리 복음을 전하셨다고 말합니다. “모든 이방인이 너로 말미암아 복을 받으리라 하였느니라” 이 축복은 성령님 그분, 곧 아버지의 약속을 포함합니다.
성령을 받는 것은 방언을 말하거나 초자연적인 능력을 경험하는 것만을 의미하지 않습니다. 성령님은 새 언약의 인치심이며 우리의 유업의 보증이십니다(엡 1:13-14). 성령님은 예수님이 우리를 위해 얻으신 모든 것이 이제 우리에게 속해 있음을 보장하시는 하나님의 보증이십니다.
이것이 바로 사도 베드로가 오순절에 설교한 후 “회개하여 … 그리하면 성령의 선물을 받으리니 이 약속은 너희와 너희 자녀와 모든 먼 데 사람 곧 주 우리 하나님이 얼마든지 부르시는 자들에게 하신 것이라”(행 2:38-39)고 말한 이유입니다. 그 약속은 유대인에게만 국한된 것이 아닙니다. 하나님께서 부르시는 모든 사람, 즉 당신을 포함한 모든 사람을 위한 것이었습니다. 당신은 더 이상 자격을 갖출 때까지 기다리지 않습니다. 그리스도 안에서 당신은 자격을 얻었습니다. 당신은 아브라함의 씨이며 약속의 상속자입니다.
사도행전 2:17은 요엘 선지자가 이미 예언한 내용을 반복합니다. “하나님이 말씀하시기를 말세에 내가 내 영을 모든 육체에 부어 주리니…” 성령에 대한 약속은 모든 사람을 위한 것임을 주목하십시오. “이 약속은 너희와 너희 자녀와 모든 먼 데 사람 곧 주 우리 하나님이 얼마든지 부르시는 자들에게 하신 것이라”(행 2:39)
이제 당신은 거듭났으므로 하나님의 축복의 일부만 가지고 있는 것이 아니라 하나님께서 가지고 계신 모든 것을 당신에게 주시는 그분의 충만함을 가지고 있습니다. 동일한 성령님께서 당신이 날마다 승리하며 살 수 있도록 능력을 주십니다. 성령님은 당신이 말씀을 이해하도록 도우시고, 모든 진리 가운데로 인도하시며, 그리스도를 나타낼 수 있게 하십니다.
당신 안에, 당신과 함께 계신 그분의 임재를 항상 인식하고 감사하십시오. 그분과 교제하는 시간을 보내십시오. 그분을 인정하십시오. 그러면 그분은 당신을 인도하시며 신성한 운명을 성취하도록 도우실 것입니다.
기도
하나님 아버지, 내 삶에 있는 성령의 축복에 감사드립니다. 성령님은 나를 인도하시고, 승리와 지혜와 신성한 능력 안에서 행할 수 있는 힘을 주십니다. 성령으로 말미암아 나는 하나님께서 그리스도 안에서 나에게 주신 모든 것을 알고 소유합니다. 나는 하나님께서 미리 정하신 길을 걸으며 그리스도 안에 있는 영광스러운 운명을 성취합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

THE PROMISE OF THE SPIRIT
“He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit” (Galatians 3:14 NIV).
When God promised Abraham that in him would all the nations of the earth be blessed, He was speaking prophetically of the Gospel and of the Spirit. Galatians 3:8 tells us that God preached the Gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In thee shall all nations be blessed.” This blessing includes the Spirit Himself—the promise of the Father.
Receiving the Holy Spirit isn’t just about speaking in tongues or experiencing supernatural power, as wonderful as those may be. The Spirit is the seal of the new covenant and the deposit of our inheritance (Ephesians 1:13–14). He is God’s guarantee that everything Jesus obtained for us belongs to us now.
This is why the Apostle Peter, after preaching on the Day of Pentecost, said, “Repent… and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off…” (Acts 2:38–39). That promise wasn’t limited to the Jews. It was for everyone God would call—including you. You’re no longer waiting to be qualified. In Christ, you’re qualified: you’re Abraham’s seed and an heir of the promise.
Acts 2:17 reiterates what was already prophesied by the Prophet Joel: “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh….” Notice that the promise of the Spirit is unto all: “For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call” (Acts 2:39).
Now that you’re born again, you don’t just have a portion of God’s blessing but the full measure of Him who brings you into everything God has. The same Spirit empowers you to live victoriously every day. He helps you understand the Word, guides you into all truth, and enables you to manifest Christ.
Be ever conscious and appreciative of His presence in you and with you. Spend time fellowshipping with Him. Acknowledge Him, and He’ll lead you in, and help you fulfil your divine destiny.
PRAYER
Thank you, heavenly Father, for the blessing of the Holy Spirit in my life, as He guides me, and empowers me to walk in victory, wisdom, and divine ability. By the Holy Spirit, I know and possess all that God has made available to me in Christ, walking in paths that He has prearranged, as I fulfil my glorious destiny in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
