You Have A New Life And A New Nature
“그러나 사람이 율법을 합법적으로만 사용하면 율법이 선한 것인 줄 아노라. 알 것은 이것이니, 율법은 의로운 사람을 위하여 제정된 것이 아니라…”(딤전 1:8-9, 한글 킹제임스)
율법과 그 규례들이 폐지되었다는 것을 성경에서 읽어본 적이 있습니까? 에베소서 2:15은 말합니다. “법조문으로 된 계명의 율법을 폐하셨으니 이는 이 둘로 자기 안에서 한 새 사람을 지어 화평하게 하시고” 그러므로 그리스도인이 된 당신에게 “도둑질하지 말라” 혹은 “살인하지 말라” 등의 계명은 더 이상 적용되지 않습니다.
그렇다면 당신이 도둑질을 해도 된다는 뜻입니까? 아닙니다. 천 번을 말해도 아닙니다! 도둑질과 살인이 허용되었기 때문에 십계명이 당신에게 적용되지 않는 것이 아닙니다. 오히려 그리스도 안에서 당신은 도둑질하거나 살인하지 않는 새로운 생명, 새로운 본성을 가지고 있기 때문입니다. 당신은 더 높은 수준에 속해 있습니다. 고린도전서 6:11은 말합니다. “…주 예수 그리스도의 이름과 우리 하나님의 성령 안에서 씻음과 거룩함과 의롭다 하심을 받았느니라”
오늘의 본문 구절에서 읽은 내용을 생각해 보십시오. 율법은 의인을 위해 만들어지지 않았습니다. 그리스도 안에서 당신은 하나님의 의입니다. 따라서 율법은 당신을 위한 것이 아닙니다. 율법은 이스라엘 백성들을 위한 것이었지만, 그들은 율법을 지킬 수 없었습니다. 그들은 계명을 생명이 아닌 지켜야 할 법으로 여겼습니다. 그러나 하나님의 말씀은 생명입니다. 기독교 안에서 우리는 말씀으로 태어났기 때문에 말씀으로 삽니다. 우리는 말씀의 생명을 가지고 있습니다.
예를 들어, 주 예수님께서 “사람이 떡으로만 살 것이 아니요 하나님의 입으로부터 나오는 모든 말씀으로 살 것이라”고 말씀하셨을 때, 그분은 그 말씀에 순종하려고 노력하신 것이 아닙니다. 그분은 자신의 의로운 본성을 묘사하신 것입니다. 또한 그분이 “주 너의 하나님을 시험하지 말라”고 말씀하셨을 때, 그분의 정체성을 설명하신 것입니다. 마찬가지로 당신이 “살인하지 말라” 또는 “도둑질하지 말라”고 읽을 때, 이는 당신의 의로운 본성을 설명하는 것입니다.
거듭난 당신은 의롭고 거룩합니다. 따라서, 도둑질하거나 살인하는 것은 당신의 본성과 일치하지 않습니다. 골로새서 3:9-10이 말하는 바와 같습니다. “너희가 서로 거짓말을 하지 말라 옛 사람과 그 행위를 벗어 버리고 새 사람을 입었으니 이는 자기를 창조하신 이의 형상을 따라 지식에까지 새롭게 하심을 입은 자니라” 거짓말하지 말라고 하는 이유는 당신의 정체성 때문입니다. 당신은 하나님으로부터 태어났고, 진리의 영이 당신 안에 거하십니다. 하나님께 영광 드립니다! 당신은 새로운 본성을 가지고 있습니다. 그 본성은 하나님을 따라 의와 참된 거룩함으로 창조되었습니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 그리스도 예수 안에서 나를 의롭게 하시니 감사합니다. 나는 그리스도 안에 있는 나의 정체성의 빛 가운데 행합니다. 나는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 생명의 성령의 법으로 다스려집니다. 나는 의 안에서 행하며 그리스도의 성품을 자연스럽게 나타냅니다. 아멘.

YOU HAVE A NEW LIFE AND A NEW NATURE
“But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man…” (1 Timothy 1:8–9).
Did you ever read in the Bible that the Law and its ordinances were abolished? Ephesians 2:15 says, “Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace.” Therefore, having become a Christian, the commandments “Thou shalt not steal” or “Thou shalt not kill” etc., no longer apply.
Does that mean you can steal? No, and a thousand times, no! The reason they don’t apply isn’t because stealing and murder are permitted. Rather, it’s because, in Christ, you have a new life, a new nature that doesn’t steal or kill. You’re of a higher class. 1 Corinthians 6:11 says, “… but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”
Consider what we read in our opening scripture: The law isn’t made for the righteous. In Christ, you’re the righteousness of God; therefore, the Law isn’t for you. The Law was for the children of Israel, which they couldn’t keep. They saw the commandments as laws to be obeyed and not as life. But the Word of God is life, and in Christianity, we live the Word, because we’re born of the Word. We have the life of the Word
For example, when the Lord Jesus quoted, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” He wasn’t trying to obey it; He was describing His righteous nature. Also, when He said, “Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God,” it was a description of His identity. Likewise, when you read, “Thou shall not kill” or “Thou shall not steal,” it’s the description of your righteous nature.
Being born again, you’re righteous and holy; therefore, it’s inconsistent with your nature to steal or to kill. It’s like what the Bible says in Colossians 3:9-10: “Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.” The reason it says don’t tell lies is because of who you are. You’re born of God, and the Spirit of truth lives in you. Glory to God! You have a new nature, that’s created after God in righteousness and true holiness.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for making me righteous in Christ Jesus. I walk in the light of who I am in Christ. I’m governed by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. I walk in righteousness, and I manifest the character of Christ effortlessly. Amen.
