Contend For Their Souls
“그리스도 예수의 종인 너희에게서 온 에바브라가 너희에게 문안하느니라 그가 항상 너희를 위하여 애써 기도하여 너희로 하나님의 모든 뜻 가운데서 완전하고 확신 있게 서기를 구하나니”(골 4:12)
당신은 교회에서 바르게 살지 않거나 더 이상 교회에 오지 않는 사람들을 볼 때 어떻게 합니까? 그들을 판단하거나 상황을 한탄하지 말고, 그들이 회복될 때까지 그들을 위해 기도로 중보하십시오. 그들의 영혼을 위해 기도하십시오. 모든 영혼은 하나님께 소중하며, 성경은 그분의 갈망이 모든 사람이 구원을 받고 진리를 아는 데 이르는 것이라고 말합니다.
이것이 바로 목회자들과 리더들이 교회에 오는 사람들을 어떻게 대하고 다루는지 조심해야 하는 이유입니다. 어떤 사람들은 교회에서 사람들을 쫓아내는 일을 서슴지 않고 행합니다. 그러나 당신이 진정한 영혼 구원자라면 다릅니다. 당신은 영혼을 구원하는 데 필요한 것이 무엇인지 이해하고, 그들을 지키기 위해 필요한 모든 일을 할 것이기 때문입니다.

오늘의 본문 구절에 등장하는 에바브라는 자신의 필요를 위해 기도하지 않았습니다. 그는 다른 사람들을 위해 기도했습니다. 그는 중보자였습니다. 그는 이미 하나님의 영광 가운데 살고 있었지만, 다른 사람들도 그들의 삶을 향한 하나님의 계획의 충만함 가운데 살도록 기도했습니다.
이것이 바로 당신이 매일 해야 하는 일입니다. 다른 사람들을 위해 중보하며 그들의 마음의 눈이 열려 하나님의 왕국의 실재를 보고 모든 지혜와 영적인 이해 가운데 그분의 뜻을 아는 지식으로 충만해지도록 기도하십시오. 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 나는 다른 사람들의 영적 성장과 회복을 위해 열렬하게, 이타적으로 기도합니다. 그러므로 나는 길을 잃은 사람들이 빠르게 회복되고, 그들의 애정이 영적인 것에 있고, 영적으로 나태하거나 둔하지 않고, 영적으로 뜨거워서 온 마음을 다해 하나님을 섬기도록 중보합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

CONTEND FOR THEIR SOULS
“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God” (Colossians 4:12).
What do you do when you observe people in church who aren’t living right or who don’t come to church anymore? Rather than lament the situation or become judgemental of them, intercede in prayer for them until they are restored. Contend for their souls in prayer. Every soul is valuable to God and the Bible says His desire is for all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
It’s part of the reason pastors and leaders should be careful how they treat and handle those who come to church. Some can be harsh and don’t mind doing things that drive people out of the church. But when you’re a true soul winner, you’re different, because you understand what it takes to win even one soul and will do everything it takes to keep them retained.
Many times, I’ve cried over a soul; I kept interceding until the person came to Christ or was restored back in the Faith. This is why we must pray ahead, at the right time, in the right way, and for the right things. When we do that, we win. Churches must prioritize time for intercessory prayer.
Epaphras, in our opening scripture, wasn’t praying for his own needs; he was praying for others. He was an intercessor. He was already walking in the glory of God, but he was praying for others to walk in it as well, to come into the fullness of God’s plan for their lives.
This is what you must do every day as well. Intercede for others, for the eyes of their understanding to be opened to the realities of God’s Kingdom and be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I pray with fervency and selflessness, for the spiritual growth and restoration of others. Therefore, I intercede for those who have strayed that they’d be restored quickly, and that their affections will be on the things of the Spirit, never languid or dull, but fervent in spirit, serving you wholeheartedly, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
