Praying With Groanings And Deep Sighs
“이와 같이 성령도 우리의 연약함을 도우시나니 우리는 마땅히 기도할 바를 알지 못하나 오직 성령이 말할 수 없는 탄식으로 우리를 위하여 친히 간구하시느니라”(롬 8:26)
우리는 방언으로 기도할 때 믿음으로 기도합니다. 우리는 입을 열고 성령님께서 우리에게 말하게 하십니다. 여기서 당신의 영이 방언으로 기도하는 것입니다. 성경은 “내가 만일 방언으로 기도하면 나의 영이 기도하거니와 나의 마음은 열매를 맺지 못하리라”(고전 14:14)고 말합니다. 그러므로 방언으로 기도하는 것은 당신의 영입니다.
그러나 더 높은 수준의 기도가 있습니다. 바로 오늘의 본문 구절인 로마서 8:26에 기록된 내용입니다. 밑줄 친 “성령도 우리의 연약함을 도우시나니”라는 부분은 성령님께서 우리의 연약함 가운데 어떻게 도우시고 우리와 함께하시는지 알려줍니다. 당신이 어려운 상황에 직면하고 어찌할 바를 모를 때, 성령님은 당신을 붙드시고 하나님의 온전한 뜻에 일치하는 기도를 하도록 도우십니다. 성령님은 당신을 인도하시고 당신이 바르게 기도하도록 도우십니다.
확대 번역본은 이 구절을 아름답게 표현합니다. “이와 같이 [성령]께서도 우리를 도우시고 약함을 붙들어주신다. 우리가 무엇을 기도해야 할 지와 어떻게 기도해야 할 지 모르기 때문이다. 그러나 성령께서 친히 우리의 간구를 들으시고 말할 수 없는 갈망과 너무 깊어 말로 표현할 수 없는 탄식으로 우리를 대신하여 간구하신다.” 이 더 높은 차원의 기도에서 성령님께서 친히 기도를 인도하시며 하나님의 뜻대로 탄식과 깊은 한숨으로 중보하십니다.
당신은 통제할 수 없이 울고 있을 수도 있지만, 고통 때문에 우는 것은 아닙니다. 계속 기도하고, 걱정하지 마십시오. 성령님께서 당신을 통해 기도하시는 것입니다. 이것이 가장 효과적인 기도이며, 성령님께서 당신을 위해 그 기도를 이루시는 것은 그분의 기쁨입니다. 그러므로 기도할 때마다 성령님께 당신을 내어드려 그분께서 당신을 통해 기도하시도록 하십시오. 그러면 당신은 자신의 삶과 환경에서 나타나는 영향력과 엄청난 결과에 놀라게 될 것입니다. 할렐루야!

사랑하는 아버지, 기도 가운데 나를 도우시는 성령님의 사역에 감사드립니다. 나는 성령님께 나 자신을 완전히 내어드리며, 그분께서 나를 통해 탄식과 깊은 한숨으로 중보하시도록 합니다. 그분께서 나와 다른 사람들의 삶에 하나님의 온전한 뜻을 세우십니다. 나는 말씀의 빛 가운데 행하며 항상 성령님의 인도를 받습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

PRAYING WITH GROANINGS AND DEEP SIGHS
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” (Romans 8:26).
When we speak in tongues, we do so by faith. We open our mouths and the Holy Spirit gives us utterance. Here, your spirit is praying in tongues. The Bible says, “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful” (1 Corinthians 14:14). So, it’s your spirit that prays in tongues even though the utterance is granted to your spirit by the Holy Spirit.
But there’s another one that’s a higher level of prayer. That’s what is written for us in Romans 8:26 which we read as our opening scripture. The underlined phrase, “the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities” tells us how the spirit helps and takes hold together with us in our weakness. He props you up and helps you pray in line with the perfect will of God especially when you face dire situations and are at your wits end. He takes over and helps you pray correctly.
The AMPC puts it beautifully. It says, “So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.” At this higher level of prayer, the Holy Spirit Himself has taken over, making intercessions with groanings and deep sighs according to the will of God.
You may find yourself crying uncontrollably but not out of pain; keep at it and don’t be troubled. It’s the Holy Spirit praying through you. This is the most effective kind of prayer and it’s the Spirit’s joy to make it happen for you. So, each time you pray, yield yourself to the Holy Spirit to pray through you, and you’ll be amazed at the impact and the tremendous results in your life and circumstances. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the ministry of the Holy Spirit who helps me in prayer. I yield myself completely to Him to intercede through me with groanings and deep sighs, causing your perfect will to be established in my life and in the lives of others. I walk in the light of your Word, always led by the Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
